RecFly can count words, characters or minutes in a file or group of files or folders (in the same format), and has the option of automatically generating the corresponding report.
It even allows you to count the text from Excel spreadsheets (automatically excluding numerical or data cells, and all the open formats Open Document and Open Office.

What does RecFly count? |
Following the word count criteria mentioned, RecFly includes the following objects in the count:
- text boxes
- graphics with text boxes that can be manipulated from Word
- headers (only once, of course)
- footnotes (idem)
- word separators: the same characters and symbols as MS Word.
- Excel: numeric and data cells are not taken into account

Help |
- The word count accumulates when more than one file is executed without resetting.
- Reset (Ctrl+R): Set the word count to zero.
- Copy (Ctrl+C): To copy directly (without selecting) and paste wherever you choose.
- The successive word counts of different files, and even different formats, accumulate if the word count is not set to zero.
- A report can be created from the word count (HTML or txt).

For select a folder (with or without sub-folders):
- place the cursor on the Folder field,
- click the
(Browse) - select the folder you want

To do a count for a file (or more than one file in the same folder):
- place the cursor on the Files field (with the format drop-down),
- click the Browse (Ctrl+E)
- select one or more files (in the same format)

Configuration |
You can customise some parameters from the Tools/Options (Ctlr+O)
- Reading word per minute
- Reset for each execution: each word count starts from 0
- Count hidden text (MS-Word)
Report
- One single report (for more than one execution)
- Format (HTML or txt)
- Open at end
